Reconciliation Week 2024

ACT Natimuk, in partnership with Gariwerd Wimmera Reconciliation Network, is holding a special evening exhibition launch for Reconciliation Week. The exhibition is curated by Wotjobaluk, Djubagalk, Jadawadjali woman Gail Harradine and includes works by Gail and Wotjobaluk, Gunaikurnai man Thomas Marks.

The Now More Than Ever exhibition LAUNCH will be held at the Goat Gallery in Natimuk on Saturday June 1st from 7.30pm. There will be a welcome drink and nibbles available. All welcome. The exhibition will run from June 1st to June 30th. Saturday and Sundays and a Friday showing on the Kings Birthday weekend. (details below)

Curator and featured artist Gail Harradine says that the exhibition ‘will delve into two artists interpretations of culture and strength in identity and Country in the context of standing staunch during recent challenging times for First Peoples’.  Moreover, Gail Harradine notes that the National Reconciliation Week 2024 theme of Now More Than Ever reminds us that ‘no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will, and must, continue’.
