Welcome to Goatfest Online!

About this Event

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners on all of the the lands on which we live work and play. Goatfest Online is coming from the land of the Wotjabaluk, Jardwajali, Jaadwa, Jupagulk and Wergaia. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

UPDATE 10/10 10.38AM

If you can’t make the event tonight, donating for a ticket up until 7.30pm tonight will give you password access to the films so you can watch at a later time/date. We are hoping to also upload a recording of the live component and voting outcomes.

Password and info email will be sent to all ticket registrations later this afternoon.

UPDATE 9/10 9.30Am
The films are rolling in! As always a diverse mix. Quite a few at last minute which is how we like our Goatfests. It’s worked for 18 years…why change it.

Tickets will continue to be sold right up to and a bit after event start. We have someone dedicated to dealing with sending info through after purchase.

For all those that have already purchased tickets up till 2pm tomorrow(Saturday) you will receive your info email with zoom and vimeo passwords. This email will contain everything you might need to refer to so please keep it close by. Filmmakers will also receive their entry and passwords email. Still working on putting a timetable together but movies are still coming in. Hope to have something up later today for that.

ACT Natimuk is a not for profit arts organization based in the town of Natimuk. Every year since 2002 it has run a sellout event in the small town. The Goatfest climbing film festival. Created as a way to raise funds to support the organisation, it is open to all who wish to submit a climbing themed film. Be they amateurs or professional. There are prizes for Jury Choice, Audience Choice and Kids Prize.

The festival is a much loved event on the climbing community calendar. It is an opportunity for climbers to create and view films and to enjoy the global camaraderie that is part of being a member of this great community. Run entirely by volunteers, Goatfest opens with an offering of a hearty meal, includes the film contest replete with prizes and the coveted Golden Goat award. Alongside a selection of both professional and amateur films, there is often a feature event which may be a film, a talk or presentation.

This year you will need to supply your own hearty meal in your own home as we take Goatfest online! It wasn’t in our plans but hey, we’re gonna embrace it and we think it’s a great opportunity to add another bow to the Goatfest event.

We think it’s important to keep the festival going and provide some celebration in the community around climbing and the arts. Previously  a fundraiser in its live form, we’re taking a bit of a back seat in the fundraising department this year. Ticket sales are by donation. Anything you donate is  appreciated and will help us cover some costs taking the festival online. The main focus though is to keep the festival going.

We’ll be running it via a mix of Zoom for interactive content and voting and watching the films via Vimeo. After ticket registration, you will be sent zoom links and vimeo passwords closer to the time. Bear with us while we continue to add more information to the platforms.
